Content - Key areas:
To visit some industrial and innovative companies and institutions in a foreign country with a very different culture from the Danish.

As a supplement to the theoretical qualifications of the PDI-engineer education, this study trip will visualise some of the subjects inside Innovation and Product development as well as manufacturing.

Learning outcomes:
After the trip the student will be able to:

-        Create contacts to foreign companies, organise and execute a trip to a foreign country taken into consideration the norms and values of other cultures
-        Behave and act in a foreign culture and country
-        Describe the culture and industrial qualification level of the workforce in a specific country
-        Describe the manufacturing concepts of some specific companies
-        Identify the most important cost drivers in some industrial companies
-        Identify and describe the level of Product Innovation in  the companies
-        Describe  how the companies market their products in the specific country

Examination conditions:
Active participation in the planning and the practical execution of the study trip.

A general report of the trip has to be done, describing:
-        Planning and practical execution of the trip
-        The individual company visits including, planning, contacts, the business area of the company and learning outcomes

Evaluation
The course is evaluated as passed/not passed. Passing the course requires the supervisors approval of the written report and the students participation in the visits to companies and institutions.
